The objects for which the Association is
established are: -
(a)
To practice, play and promote the game of Table
Tennis within the Chinese community in UK. Activities include organising and
promoting training centres for table tennis, table tennis championship for
local and national championship and participating in overseas table tennis
championship for the Chinese community;
(b)
To advance the education and to provide
facilities in the interests of table tennis for recreation and leisure time
occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life of the Chinese
Community of UK;
- The
Association will be holding National Juniors and Seniors Individual and
Team Championships every year. The aim of these championships is to select
Chinese players for the UK National Chinese Teams to compete in the Annual
European Chinese Table Tennis Championship.
- The Association
also hopes to set up regional Chinese Table Tennis training centres all
over UK. Clubs affiliated with the
UKCTTA may be provided with financial assistance to run their coaching
sessions and form Chinese squads for their clubs.
- Other
plans include hosting the Annual Chinese European Championship in UK, and
assisting the best Chinese Table Tennis players for possible advancement
of their skills – through training in China.
- The
Association is a voluntary organisation run mainly by Chinese volunteers
and those who love to help Chinese people in the community. Its finance
relies solely on sponsorships from individuals, companies and
organisations.
